About Us
Saipan Sailing School is a nonprofit organization operating under Western Pacific Maritime Academy which is located on the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Located at Latitude 15˚13'N, Longitude 145˚43'E, Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands are barely visible on any tourist map, though we are Commonwealth to the United States of America since 1978. Within the Mariana Island chain of 15 islands, our largest and nearest island neighbor is the U. S. Territory of Guam 120 nautical miles to the Southwest. Saipan Sailing School offers sailing instruction for the high school students, (US Naval Sea Cadet Corps & Navy League Cadet Corps), in a maritime vocational training aspect. We also offer sailing instruction for visitors / tourists interested in learning to sail the clear, tropical waters of Tanapag Lagoon, the Philippine Sea and the Western Pacific Ocean.

Saipan Sailing School offers sailing instruction using the American Sailing Association (ASA) certification system. Certification with ASA is widely respected and recognized throughout the world. Our courses are taught in an airconditioned classroom 1 mile from the Smiling Cove Marina, where our boats are moored. Our instructors are ASA Certified for teaching Basic Keel Boat, ASA 101, Basic Coastal Cruising, ASA 103, Bare Boat Cruising, ASA 104, Additional courses include ASA 105 course, Coastal Navigation & Piloting. Our instructors are experienced and knowledgeable sailors with years of near shore and offshore sailing experience.
